The Cintec Group relies on criteria established by Quebec’s Ministry of the Environment to accept soils that can be disposed in its maximum security cell. The new rule on landfilling contaminated soils (2001) stipulates the following:
- Soils whose concentration of contaminants is less than the set limit, are accepted. Other criteria must also be respected
- PCB concentration < 50 mg/kg
- Residual material content < 25% after segregation
- Absence of explosive or radioactive material, or material incompatible with the geomembranes
- Absence of free liquids
The Cintec Group can intervene in the following:
soil characterization and evaluation of volumes to be excavated;
excavation, transportation and disposal of contaminated soils;
rehabilitation of contaminated sites.
