In conformity with the authorization certificate it is the Canadian engineering firm SNC-Lavalin that is responsible to insure that we are respecting the environmental monitoring program.
The environmental monitoring program includes many actions:
- Monitoring ground and surface water quality;
- Monitoring of the leachate-collection system;
- Monitoring of the drainage system at the landfill site;
- General inspection of the site.
A pumping system permits the observation of the water level in the wells at pre-determined levels. The pumping shafts are equipped with water meters.
